If you read the documents that are now posted on the EPA website (http://yosemite.epa.gov/r10/water.nsf/Sole+Source+Aquifers/camano_island) you can see that there are two opposing camps about the advisability of implementing the Ducks Unlimited/WDFW restoration plan, which would flood the popular birding/hunting site.

The Ducks Unlimited/WDFW study attempts to prove that there will be no impact on Camano Island's fresh water supply, while the folks responsible for supplying fresh water to Camano Island's residents attempt to prove the opposite. It is a classic example of using science to substantiate two desired opposing points of view. It will be interesting to see how it shakes out.
