Hi,
Blair Bernson and I birded Whidbey Island and Eide Road, Stanwood today.
Highlights included:
At Crockett Lake around 11 a.m. - a moulting adult Red Knot at Crockett Lake. It was quite red until the rear end of the underparts, but too distant for photos. Also present 50 + Semipalmated Plovers. There was single Red-necked Phalarope at one of the two ponds at the south end of Crockett on the opposite side of the road from the lake. A Green Heron at Coles Road pond earlier.
At Eide Road late afternoon there were 2 Pectorals, 1 Semipalmated Sandpiper, 10 Lesser and 1 Greater Yellowlegs. Also 6 Red-necked Phalaropes, c15 Westerns and a couple of Leasts.
Cheers, Steve
