Birded the NW part of Clallam County today with Charlie Wright. Highlights are as follows:

Lake Ozette:

Eastern Kingbird - flycatching from the tops of the alders in the parking lot.

Neah Bay: Wa'atch River Valley:

Swainson's Hawk - intermediate morph bird flying over the valley riding the thermals with many other raptors which included all 3 accipiters, dozens of Bald Eagles and ~80 Turkey Vultures.

Western Kingbird - 6 birds flycatching along the old road to Hobuck Beach. Not unusual here.

Brewer's Sparrow - on the old gravel road towards Hobuck Beach, Makah Passage rd I believe, about halfway between the bridge over the Wa'atch closest to town and the intersection with the road to Hobuck.

Cheers,
