I was thinking of chasing the Magnolia Warbler this morning but
decided to grab a blanket, book, my bins, along with a little bit of
food & coffee and head over to Shilshole (in particular Golden
Gardens) to enjoy the early morning sun. The park was nice and
relaxing this morning until about 10:30 am when four or five bus loads
of young school kids arrived for a low tide nature walk. It was great
to see the naturalists from the Seattle Aquarium out there leading the
kids around. Only had 16 species, but while lounging about a few of
the birds seen included:
MARBLED MURRELET - Seven birds in quite close to shore
OSPREY - diving and coming up with fish
OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER - calling from the hillside overlooking the park
CASPIAN TERN
BALD EAGLE
Cheers and Good Birding;
