Hey tweets, I think I found an Alder Flycatcher today at the Fill. It was singing a song very different from a Willow's "fitz-bew." It started singing in the bushes at the south end of Main Pond. Then it flew to the little willow tree just to the east of Walt's bench (on my map: the Reading Rocks). Here it sang for a while, and I got a chance to look at it. Very like a Willow Flycatcher in appearance, but not at all in song. Then it flew over to Boy Scout Pond, where it continued to sing. I wish someone more conversant with an Alder's song would get down there ASAP and relocate this little guy! At home on my computer, I've been playing Alder's songs, and they definitely sound like the bird I heard today. - Connie, Seattle
