May winds down the northward turkey vulture migration for the most part. Nesting pairs should be hard at work. Turkey vultures don't build nests so they are saved some hassle. Following are the reports from Washington and Oregon for May 2013:

04 ? 32 at Neah Bay; 1 near the river in Snoqualmie
05 ? 1 at Nisqually; 1 at the Monroe prison farm
10 ? 1 being harrassed by ravens near the cliffs on Hwy 10; 70+ in one group near Neah Bay
11 ? 1-4 near Fall City; 1 at JBLM
12 ? 1 near Snohomish; 2 on the ground between Montesano and Elma
15 ? 1 soaring over fields near Snohomish
16 ? 1 flew over the McClane Creek Nature Trail; 2 over downtown Portland
17 ? 1 soaring over Bellingham's Seahome Hill; 4 over Leavenworth (for 3 days); 1 circling over Wenatchee
18 ? 1 at JBLM; 1 at Squamish Harbor; 5 nearby on the beach; 5 at Catherine Creek Canyon; 5 flying south over Hwy 9; 2 at the Lyle-Balch Cemetery; 15 in Stevenson; 1 at Toppenish; 6 near Lake Chelan;
19 ? 1 at JBLM; 1 near McCleary; 1 along the Satsop River; 7 at Ridgefield NWR
21 ? 2 along W.Snoqualmie Valley Road; 3 circling Crescent Lake (Monroe)
22 ? 6 at Crescent Lake (Monroe)
23 ? 7 flying with a bald eagle just north of Crescent Lake (Monroe)
24 ? 1 at Minkler Flats
26 ? 2 soaring over Goose Hollow in Portland + another later in the day; 20 at Finley NWR, Oregon; 1 over Little Pend Oreille NWR; 1 over the Honor Farm ponds in Monroe + a kettle of 9 in the distance; 3 near Cle Elum; 3 above Easton State Park
