Three days ago (6/13/13) Karen and I happened upon an active American Kestrel nest in a snag east of West Ballard Hill Road a little west of its intersection with Swauk Prairie Road.? So the nest is across West Ballard Hill Road from Swauk Cemetery.? The two adult kestrels were hunting above the grasslands south of the snag and then would return to feed the young ones in the cavity.? The lighting was very?difficult so I only managed one photo.
