Hi, Tweets

We were also wandering around the Monroe and south areas today. Also saw the trumpeter swan that Joyce reported. It was preening when we saw it at the south end of Crescent Lake. There were no leg bands that I could see. It was a pretty quiet day all around - a redtail on a utility pole was near the lake.

When I took my dog (later) to Brightwater I was able to add a new bird to my list: a cedar waxwing. Actually, there were two. Also, two families of mallards with 6-8 small ducklings plus a killdeer family of five. It was quiet at Brightwater, too, except for singing red-winged blackbirds.

Nice day, but no turkey vultures in the valley.

Cheers, Diann
