On the way back from working the woods in SE Cowlitz Co this morning, I
stopped by Ridgefield NWR at around 11:30am. While it was heating up into
the mid 80s by then, many birds were still very active and singing/calling.
That will be over pretty soon.

A Black Tern is continuing along the Kiwa Trail (NW corner). Are they
breeding or is this a summering bird? Sora, Virginia Rail, White-breasted
Nuthatch, Wilson's Snipe, 2 Greater Yellowlegs (maybe southbound already),
Willow Flycatcher and 2 Yellow-headed Blackbirds were all calling/singing.
