As previously reported, in January a Bohemian Waxwing tapped on our window.? Fortunately I was sitting at the window and got to see a rare bird for King County.? Tonight at 8:50 my wife and I heard scratching and tapping at another window.? At first we feared that we had rodents.? We went to the window and a Dark-eyed Junco was trying to get into our house.? It was very persistent.? I lowered the shade so it went to another window.? I lowered that shade and it went to a window on another side of the house.? I turned on an outside light and the junco stopped.? The waxwing appeared to be attracted by an indoor plant with small red flowers that may have looked like berries.? Later we saw it eating holly berries off the ground.? We have no idea what the junco was doing.
