Tweeters: Not that it's real newsworthy any more, but the Eur. Collared-Doves continue to find new places to turn up. This morning went to Getchell Junction (this spot is about 1.5 miles from our home in n. Lake Stevens) and there on a telephone wire were two birds, evidently copulating, at the edge of a RV park there. This site is along Hwy 92 en route to Granite Falls. This is the most inland I've encountered birds in Snohomish Co to date, and I figure at this rate the species will make it onto the yard list, althoughI would have figured our area was too wooded/rural. Also wanted to report an electrifying trip to Texas over the last two weeks, on business, but two weekends allowed for ample birding, especially in the west. Terrific trip, over 230 species found.
