Edmonds Marsh Madness continued through St.Patrick's Day with the red crossbills making yet another appearance in the pine tree directly across from the front door of Gallagher's brew it yourself pub in Harbor Square. ?? For those wishing to see the crossbills, there are no guarrantees, but we have been seeing them mid afternoon around 2:00-3:30pm.?

After the crossbill flock took off, we saw a female downy woodpecker in a nearby tree as well as two pairs of great blue herons in the rookery trees at the far south side of the marsh.? I have my doubts they will successfully roost, as one of the Pt. Edwards bald eagles was perched on the family tree up Pine St. at the top of the hill.? We also saw red-tailed hawk patroling the south side of the marsh.
