Yesterday as I was driving I spotted a string of 13 Turkey vultures battling a strong headwind. They were heading west,?staying low, mostly along the bluff line of the strait, occasionally straying as far south as HW 101 about .1 miles from the?HW at that point. I'd like to think they were headed toward the crossing point at Mt Bohokus. I know they often have to wait several days for favorable crossing conditions. But when I see a group of TVs moving I begin to scan the skies for the influx of swallows and rufous hummers.
?Also the songs of White crowned sparrows are?issuing forth from the blackberry stands. These are probably the ones that wintered here, but a sign of things to come.

?Spring is on the move!
