This year there is an abundance of bird festival opportunity in April. Due
to scheduling conflicts (Easter being the big one) the Othello Sandhill
Crane Festival moved to the first weekend of April this year as well. Hope
this isn't competition for the Olympic Bird Fest but rather an alternative
for those wanting to experience the dry side of Eastern WA a week or two
later than has been. Still plenty of cranes expected but more shorebirds
and songbirds. Of course curlews, Burrowing Owls, Tricolored Blackbirds and
sunshine as well!

There's a reason why the Sequim-Dungeness bird count area continuously leads
the state in number of bird species seen during the annual Christmas Bird
Counts. The area boasts of mountains-to-sea habitats in its count circle!
"Come Bird With Us" on April 5-7. The 10th annual BirdFest already has some
sold out field trips, so find out more and easily register on-line at
www.olympicbirdfest.org. Throughout the weekend, you'll have a chance to
win a pair of 8x32 Vortex Viper HD Binoculars valued at $659 for just a
$3.00 raffle ticket purchase, kindly donated by Wild Birds Unlimited.
Fabulous auction items and an outstanding national photographer-presenter at
the banquet. Learn more at www.olympicbirdfest.org. CU there!! Or ask me
questions off-tweeters.
