I headed out to the Elwah River Mouth yesterday looking for the reported Black Phoebe, but it was a no show. Listening to the Spring sounds was very enjoyable however; Ruffed Grouse drumming, American Robins and White-crowned Sparrows in full song, the redundant squeals of Hutton's Vireos: what a difference a little boost in daytime temperature makes! Along the river, there was also a spectacular FOY pair of Cinnamon Teal hob-knobbing with a flock of Common Mergansers.
