Yesterday, the 28th, there was a Common Raven circling and calling over the Capehart restoration site, just a small puff of SW wind away from West Seattle. Joining it was a Violet-green Swallow, while flocking back and forth were about fifty Red Crossbills and a hundred Pine Siskins. Several times this week, two different Barred Owls have been calling back and forth. They seem to like the clear, sunny afternoon skies for this activity. Most interesting to me, two or three Purple Finches have been also singing. This is would be a rare breeding bird in Discovery Park - do other birders notice this species as breeding
species within the Seattle City limits?
