All,

Beautiful day at Theler after the morning fog burned off. Very birdy
with 43 species for the day. Highlights were a Barred Owl just inside
the gate, a FOY Osprey, Turkey Vulture, Northern Harrier, Rufus
Hummingbird, VG Swallows and a Greater White-fronted Goose.

I recently talked with two of the "Salmon people." They plan to begin
digging up the field soon. Tearing out part of the dike and bridging it
is scheduled to begin in August. The trail will be closed for 5 months.
The person I spoke with said it's possible the second breech will not
happen.
