I posted 2 photos of a Goldeneye on our local Costco pond just south of
Yakima. I'd like help with the identification. I first called it a Common
Goldeneye, but now believe it's a Barrow's.
For females, I've just been told that BAGO have bills that are almost
totally orange. This falls a little short of that.
I've since read that head & bill shape are most important, BAGO bills tend
orange with black nail; COGO bills yellow, and usually only on distal
fourth of bill.
I've also read that hybrids are common.
