Subject: [Tweeters] May 18th, Westport Pelagic Trip
Date: May 4 17:05:55 2013

There are still spaces available for this months pelagic. As Bill Tweit mentioned last week in his post, this is a great time for waterfowl, loons and various seabirds making their migration northward in beautiful breeding plumages. We should get good numbers of Pacific Loons, Red Phalaropes, Sabine's Gulls, Common and Arctic Terns and various jaegers. Last year we had 1 Manx Shearwater. Our best May trip was in 2011 with 2 Laysan Albatross, 7 Murphy's Petrels, 1 Mottled Petrel and 11 Long-tailed Jaegers. On the 2009, May trip, we had 2 Flesh-footed Shearwaters.
So, anything is possible at this time of year. Further information and how to register is on our website at www.westportseabirds.com.
Hope to see you on the ocean soon,
Bruce LaBar
