To add to my post of a few minutes ago -- the only distinction I saw from a Mourning Dove was the horizontal black mark on the neck. I could not see the tail from where I was looking as it was obscured by tree leaves, and its distance from me was great. But that black mark was there. Would be interested in hearing whether anyone has had a similar sighting in that area.
