Hello, tweets.

On 4 and 5 May, a male Brown-headed Cowbird visited one of our feeders. The last cowbird I recorded in our yard was in 2006, so I considered the species essentially gone from this part of Seattle. It will be interesting to see if it remains in the area and can attract a female. Maybe the local Song Sparrow and towhee will be a little nervous now, as they are the only species nesting around here that are parasitized by cowbirds.
