I waded around the edges of the lake at Midway Beach today (5/12/13), from
6:30 to 8:30 AM, and found many interesting birds, in addition to three
Black-necked Stilts reported earlier on eBird and Tweeters. Among them
were:

Am. Bittern /1/ (calling frequently)
Mallard /10/
Cinnamon Teal /3/
N. Shoveler /7/
Virginia Rail /2/
Sora /4/
Black-bellied Plover /10/
Western Sandpiper /6/
Dunlin /10/
SB Dowitcher /20/
LB Dowitcher /1/ (calls; very long beak; dark red breast, belly)
Marsh Wren /30/
Savannah Sparrow /30/
Red-winged Blackbird /25/
Yellow-headed Blackbird /2/ (males; one in song)
