Hi Tweets,


This is a follow up of Denis DeSilvis's WOS trip to JLM on May 19, 2013.

The high light for me is that I learned now that the military base
could be an excellent place for birding if you could get in. With its
years of restricted entry, various habitats (prairie, forest, lakes,
ponds, wetlands), it makes sense. Going with a leader who is very
familiar with the landscape and birds locally is invaluable! Denis's
familiarity with the entry regulation and base personnel is also
important. Most of all Denise's dedication, enthusiasm and other
fellow birders' friendliness made the trip so enjoyable.


The photo set below contains some high light birds (Yellow Warbler,
Lazuli Bunting, Pacific-slope Flycatcher, Bullock's Oriole,
Olive-sided Flycatcher, etc.) and those who did not get away from my
camera:
