Mitch Blanton and I skirted the I-5 mess and headed up Highway 20 from Bellingham today to see if we could locate the Pectoral Sandpiper in the pond on Burmaster Road (Minkler Flats) reported by Ryan Merrill on E-bird. We hit a bit of a bonanza at the pond, as follows:

15 Pectoral Sandpipers, up close and personal
1 Yellow-headed Blackbird - male - very bright
1 Cinnamon Teal - male

Various numbers of:
Barn Tree, Violet-Green, Bank and Cliff Swallows
Mallards
Brewer's and Red-winged Blackbirds
Turkey Vulture
Bald Eagle
Killdeer
Norther Pintail
American Wigeon
Gadwall
Bufflead
Kingfisher (1)
