Grace occurred to me this morning as I grudgingly began my too-early
drive into Aberdeen for an all-day meeting. As I drove east I emerged from
under impending rain towards the warm glow of the sun screened by
striations of clouds, all in molten gold. It was pretty awesome, and
definitely improved my day.

It occurred a second time as I pulled into my driveway after the long
meeting to find two three-point bucks standing in my front yard, eating
dandelions. One had a 6 inch broken antler, the other was
limping...probably a glancing hit by a car as I saw no signs of a recent
battle. I am used to hosting does and their yearlings, but not many bucks,
so I was wary of getting out of the car. I sat and observed them for a bit,
then not seeing any signs of rut behavior, I eased out of the car and went
inside the house.

Ocean Shores has a large population of deer, and they tend to eat my
sunflower seeds right out of the feeders, but I seldom fill the feeders
full any more, so they move on when they have cleaned me out. I find them
beautiful and enjoy their presence.
