A MERLIN was perched in the top of a Douglas Fir in the yard today and launched an attack like a speeding bullet. It was moving so fast I could not tell if it was successful. Both COOPER'S and SHARP-SHINNED HAWK were chasing feeder birds.

RED-TAILED HAWK and three BALD EAGLE were seen from the yard. The WHITE-THROATED SPARROW did not show itself today and so I was glad I got some pictures yesterday.

Other fun birds in the yard were RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER, HUTTON'S VIREO and 8 CALIFORNIA QUAIL.
