Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday November 7. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

A fairly cooperative RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER is now being seen along
Blackhawk Trail Road in LaGrande. A LONG-TAILED DUCK is now at the LaGrande
Sewage Ponds and a BLUE JAY is in Cove. On November 1 a BROAD-WINGED HAWK
was in Newport. A very photogenic RUSTY BLACKBIRD is now being seen near the
Hillsboro Library in Dawson Creek Park. Other RUSTY BLACKBIRDS were reported
during the week at the Monmouth Sewage Ponds and in Newbry Park in Talent.
On October 31 a dead BLUE-FOOTED BOOBY was found the the beach in Seaside.

Major movements of PACIFIC LOONS, KITTIWAKES, and RED PHALAROPES were
reported along the coast. On November 5 a very large feeding concentration
off Clatsop Beach near Gearhart contained at least 2000 BROWN PELICANS,
large numbers of HEERMANN?S GULLS, BONAPARTE?S GULLS, PACIFIC LOONS, and
shearwaters. TROPICAL KINGBIRDS were reported during the week at Tillamook
and Yaquina Bays. A late ELEGANT TERN was at the Marine Science Center on
Yaquina Bay November 3. The Ilwaco BLACK-NECKED STILT continues to be seen.

On November 3 four TRUMPETER SWANS were at Ridgefield NWR. Early TUNDRA
SWANS were reported from several areas. A late VULTURE was reported November
1 in the Hillsboro-Tualatin area. A HARLAN?S HAWK was photographed at
Hillsboro November 4.

A WHITE-WINGED SCOTER was on Suttle Lake in Santiam Pass November 4. At
least six CHESTNUT-BACKED CHICKADEES were along the Metolius River October
31. On November 3 a RED-BREASTED MERGANSER and a SWAMP SPARROW were at
Hatfield Lake near Bend. Four CLARK?S GREBES, a RED-THROATED LOON were on
Wickiup Reservoir November 2. A grounded RED-THROATED LOON was picked up
November 4 at Mitchell High School and taken to a Sisters Rehab Center.
