hi all ... Gene and I went on the Oregon side of the Columbia today
from the Red Lion to Columbia Point (the Hayden Island condo spot)
... we had some nice birds including the following three "surprises" ...

a beautiful CLARK'S GREBE in a flock of about 60 WESTERN GREBES ...
the Clarks stood out as very white with a shocking orange bill ...
(also had 3 other grebes ---RED-NECKED, HORNED, and PIED-BILLED) ...

Three RED-BREASTED MERGANSER ladies flew in, then headed upstream ...

and our biggest surprise - a PELAGIC CORMORANT taking a bath !!! ...
