This is the 7th consecutive year that an American x Eurasian Wigeon hybrid (male) has been at Swallows Park, presumably the same bird.
Who knew that ducks could survive this long ?

Spent the day birding along the Snake in Asotin Co. and a little in Whitman. Had some interesting birds, including a EURASIAN X AMERICAN WIGEON hybrid at Swallows Park, a RED-NECKED GREBE on the river between Clarkston and Asotin, a juvenile THAYER'S GULL at the Asotin Co. landfill, and a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW and FOX SPARROW at Chief Timothy HMU.
Later, at the Nisqually John Canyon wetland there were two VIRGINIA RAILS along with a Marsh Wren. Still, none of the scoters or Long-tailed ducks I was hoping to find.
