Quite unexpected, a single VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOW was seen sallying back and
forth in the cold warm sun just off the north shore of Phantom Lake in the
Lake Hills Greenbelt (LHG) at 10am.

November VGSWs are not unprecedented in King County but are decidedly rare
as shown in Hunn 2012 bar graph p.163 with two previous records 'dotted'
in the county in November and one in early December. Elsewhere in western
Washington, isolated VGSWs could turn up anytime or even in very small
numbers throughout the winter (Opperman 2003, p.542).
