Hi Tweeters,

Second morning in in a row I've seen (and heard) a MacGillivray's
warbler in the Grieg statue grove just north of the Allen Library, at
around 9 am both days. The warbler had a dryish chip somewhere
between a Common Yellowthroat and a Townsend's warbler (recording
available, but it's a cell phone video that doesn't show the bird).
It foraged low, sometimes on the ground, flitting in and out of cover
too quickly for me to get a lousy photo. It was solid gray-green on
its back and wings, no wing bars or streaks anywhere, had a
well-marked hood (no yellow throat, solid gray to chest), white
eye-rings that looked broken, not complete, solid yellow from breast
to vent, and had a smooth roundish aspect (could be fluffed up, it's
pretty cold). I'm very familiar with the regular warbler chips around
here, I know it's not a regular, particularly from how it looks--but
I've only seen MacGillivray's a few times, it would be awfully nice to
have confirmation!
