HI ALL:
Saw this on ebird:

Summer Tanager (Piranga rubra) (1)
- Reported Nov 29, 2013 15:45 by Suzy Hunter
- 4155 38th Ave SW, King, Washington
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&q=47.5649423,-122.3=

- Checklist: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S15800675
- Comments: "Observed by two people, but no photos. Seen perched on tree
near seed feeder from a distance of about 10 feet. Bright cardinal-red
body with light-colored, downcurved, long, thick bill. Red wings slightly
darker than body. Observed for about 30 seconds before bird flew across
the street into large evergreens. Relocated with binoculars for about 1
minute. Location is at the intersection of 38th Ave SW and Genessee in
West Seattle.

Additional description:
The bird was entirely bright red with no facial markings or wing bars.
Slightly smaller than robin-size with a very slight crest. It was perched
in a tree next to our seed feeder in a crouching/horizontal posture. The
wings were slightly darker red than the body, but were red and not black.
The eyes were dark. The bill was light "horn" colored, and long, slightly
thick and decurved.

I have seen Summer Tanagers before when living in Arizona, so am familiar
with the species. I recognized it as a tanager because of it's bill shape,
size and posture. I eliminated Western Tanager because of color, and
Scarlet Tanager because it's wings were not black.

We ran to get the camera, but could not relocate the bird to get a photo.
We are both very confident of the ID as we got unmistakeable looks, and
have seen this species before.

My husband and I both saw the bird from a distance of about 10 feet out
the window for about 30 seconds before it flew across the street. We both
then got brief binocular looks before it flew to the east."
