We saw the SP White Pelican yesterday, still standing on the floating platform, next to the basket.

It had its head up when we first arrived, then it tucked it in for several minutes. Eventually, it brought its head back up and began to preen.

I, too, am concerned about the well-being of this bird.

Also, I wonder why the basket is there?
