I too saw the pelicans on Thursday. I work in Ilwaco and noticed the two flying around to harbor at about 8:00. I walked on the docks for a closer look and the two seemed like younger pelicans to me. I has a suspicion that these may have been released by the Wildlife center in Astoria, but I've not been able to confirm yet.

As for American White Pelicans in Pacific County; I've seen them at least once or twice working their way along the river as far down stream as Fort Columbia near Chinook.
