All,

Yesterday, at Theler Wetlands, I heard a bird calling from the cattails
in the marshy area just before you come to the small pond near the
beginning of the trail. It called loudly for several minutes with
several Virgina Rails responding to its calls. The sound is similar to
the whinny call of the Sora on the Sibley bird app. I am not very
familiar with the call of the Sora, but I am very familiar with the
vocalizations of the local Virginia Rails, and I've never heard this
before. The Virgina Rails and the unknown bird were within 15 feet of
me, but I never caught sight of them.

I made a 45 second recording on my phone which I have placed in my
Dropbox folder. The recording is not great, but I hope it is good enough:

It is a .3ga file which may cause problems. I was able to just change
the extension to .mp3 and it worked fine, but that does not seem to work
for everyone.
