The blue skies were too good to pass up this afternoon so I made a
fruitful, peaceful trip to the lake to see the dabblers and divers. The
water was buzzing with a fair amount of diversity apart from the usual
Mallards, Crows and Gulls; species included:
AMERICAN COOT 5
PIED-BILLED GREBE 2
BUFFLEHEAD 6
DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT 7
SAVANNAH SPARROW 5
CANADA GOOSE 10
NORTHERN SHOVELER 6
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER 1
AMERICAN ROBIN 1
CANVASBACK 2
ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD 1
GADWALL 5
I was hypnotized by the sun and warm air so the hunt wasn't especially
rigorous but I thought I'd let you all know what's hopping down here at the
Capitol.
