Four Shoalwater birders, Madeline Kalbach, Janet Lamberson, Susan Clark and Linda Bierma, saw one Black-necked Stilt in the illwaco Harbor of the Long Beach Peninsula. It was with about 20 Marbled Godwits on a little bit of sand on the bay side of the Harbor as you come into the area. There is a field adjacent to the water treatment plant . There is room to park there and places to look out into the bay. It was last seen at 5:30 p.m. this afternoon. It flew off when the raptors closed in. There was a Peregrine falcon, a Bald eagle and a Northern harrier on the hunt and at the same time.
We believe this is a rare bird sighting for our area. I have photos for identification.

In this same area there was one Eurasian Widgeon among the ducks and a small flock of Dunlin.

The Cassins's Auklet was on the other side of road opposite the field mentioned above. It was on the port side of the harbor road as one drives in. It was still there at 5:45 p.m. I have photos for this sighting as well.

I am just in the process of downloading the photos. I will send a photo to anyone who requests one.
