On October 30 a RED-THROATED PIPIT was reported flying over Marys Peak west
of Philomath. A GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCH was there that day. A

Sparrow movements during the week brought many WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS to
backyard feeders. Single SWAMP SPARROWS were reported from Langlois, Flores
Lake, Smith/Bybee Lakes, Jackson Bottom, and Frenchman?s Bar north of
Vancouver. Single TREE SPARROWS were reported from Langlois, Flores Lake,
and Ladd Marsh WMA. A HARRIS?S SPARROW was near Bend and one was at Oaks
Bottom in Portland.

TROPICAL KINGBIRDS continue along the coast. Among the swarms of offshore
migrants passing Boiler Bay October 27 were a MANX-TYPE SHEARWATER,
LONG-TAILED DUCK, and 500 HEERMANN?S GULLS. On October 29 a TRUMPETER SWAN
was seen on Devils Lake in Lincoln City. The BLACK-NECKED STILT continues on
the Columbia River flats near the Ilwaco boat basin.

On October 25 a SURF SCOTER was on the St. Helens sewage Ponds. An adult
HEERMANN?S GULL was photographed October 27 at Willamette Park in SW
Portland. A late TURKEY VULTURE kettle was over SE Portland October 29. A
LONG-EARED OWL was seen October 25 at Smith/Bybee Lakes in North Portland.

A possible BOHEMIAN WAXWING was reported October 30 in Bend. That day a MEW
