Hi Tweeters,

I'm forwarding the following question from our local astronomy "star" Alice Enevoldsen, one of NASA?s Solar System Ambassadors. She's been regularly hearing a call around 11pm on weeknights and wonders what it could be. Here's her verbal description: "It sounds like "Whee-wheeoo! Whee-Wheeoo!" ... but very fast, and very late. Just got a recording at almost midnight." She managed to get an mp3 she'd be happy to send anyone who'd like to help her identify the call. Please contact her directly at the email below. (If you'd like to cc me, that'd be great; I'm curious about what you think the sound is as well.)

And by the way, if you're interested in astronomy, Alice's website is http://www.alicesastroinfo.com/. She's a wonderful sky educator!

Good birding to all,
Trileigh

Hi Trileigh,

<?>

[I hear this call] fairly regularly, around 11pm every night this week. Here's the recording. I keep thinking bird, Jason thinks bat.
