Today, 7 September 2013, several good birds turned up in Skagit County--although probably not good enough to take people away from Upland Sandpipers and Lesser Sandplovers, and all the other good stuff down in SW Washington!
?
At Corkindale was a Vesper Sparrow, as well as a? Golden-crowned Sparrow. The Golden-crowned was my earliest ever in Skagit, by one day.
?
Marblemount Boat Launch was hopping with migrants, including a Red-eyed Vireo, at least two Cassin's Vireos, several Warbling Vireos, a Hammond's Flycatcher, and so forth.?There were lots of warblers and Savannah Sparrows.
?
At the Van Horn Ponds was another Vesper Sparrow.
?
The best find of the day was at March Point: 23 Common Terns! They were elegant, but not Elegant. No jaegers?showed up?to bother them.
