FYI - Handbook of the Birds of World Vol 17, the index volume is now available. It has at least three advantages: The photos are terrific; it is much bigger than previously suggested; it is significantly cheaper than the other volumes in the series! The new birdfinding in BC book, by Cannings & Cannings is also more widely available now, so you don't have to order it from Canada. Mr Wayne Weber, by heresay, likes it a lot! There will be a new book co-authored by Steve Howell and Ian Lewington, coming out in December, Rare Birds of North America, with what look like excellent photos and paintings. Finally, Seattle Audubon hope in the late Spring to release a new
title on Birds of the Pacific Northwest, by Hal Opperman and Tom Aversa. Good birding. Dave
