Saturday nine of us, including myself started out around 6:30AM at Washtucna. Six of us camped the night before. The night before, most heard a Barn Owl, and I heard a Great Horned Owl just before sunrise as I was making my coffee. After spending the morning birding in Washtucna, we went on to Lyon's Ferry and Palouse Falls. We arrived at Hatton STP around 3PM. Most of us got done birding at Scooteney around 5PM. Here are our highlights:


Washtucna:

PACIFIC WREN-one heard

Golden-Crowned Kinglet-10

Ruby-Crowned Kinglet -5

Red-Breasted Nuthatch-one heard

Orange-Crowned Warbler-one

Hammond?s/Dusky Type Flycatcher-handful, also other flycatchers that were unidentified

One possible Gray Flycatcher (that I didn?t see)

Wild Turkeys-seemed there were at least 15 with young

All had a good time and many of us had good discussions on shorebird and flycatcher identification. We had great weather and everyone seemed to enjoy each others' company.
