Hi, fellow bird watchers. If you are in the Pateros, Wash. area this
weekend, and like raptors, this is for you. Just a few days ago they had
over 40 birds go by observation, and more than 20 were caught and banded:

Chelan Ridge Hawk Migration Festival 2013

Join the Methow Valley Ranger District, North Central Washington Audubon
Society, and Hawk Watch International this weekend for the fourth annual
Chelan Ridge Hawk Migration Festival! This family event combines free
activities in Pateros Memorial Park with trips to the Chelan Ridge site to
learn about and celebrate raptors as they journey to winter territories.
The festival takes place in Pateros Memorial Park and will have vendors:
books and optics, live raptors from WSU Raptor Club and Lisa Lindsey
(rehab specialist),a birding field trip and projects for kids. The trip
to and from Chelan Ridge lasts 4 hours and includes seeing raptors as they
are banded and released. Pre-registration is required. There is still
plenty of room on both the shuttle up to Chelan Ridge and the field trip
to the Wells Wildllife Reserve.

More information and on-line registration is available at www.ncwaudubon.org.
You can sign up for the Wells Wildlife field trip at rscran at aol.com

Pateros, WA (CityPark), Saturday, September 14, 2013; 8:00 am to 3:00 p.m.

P.S. Jenny Graevell and I are the leaders for the field trip to the Wells
Wildlife area on Bridgeport Bar. Hope to see you this weekend.
