I had not seen the chicks of pied-billed grebe's before and when we did this past Saturday at Wiley Slough we didn't know what they where.? Seemed late in the season, but finally saw the adult with t he 5 chicks - if you haven't seen them here's your chance - quite unique. (They weren't in the Sibley field guide which I had, but were in the National Geo Guide back in the car)
