Hi Tweets,

Yesterday morning at about 8:00am I saw three Swan Geese at the Lake
Sammamish State Park near the swimming area. It was my first time to see
this species in WA. They look like domestic kind with a large hump at the
base of the bill. They were hanging around with a few Canada Geese but much
larger and bulkier.

Does anyone know their history? Were they dumped there as unwanted-pets or
did they come from somewhere else?

Also seen were a Green Heron and a female Cooper's Hawk. The hawk was
harassing the heron and eventually drove it away. They were at the mouth of
the Issaquah Creek by the end the new boardwalk.

A group of 13 American Pipit were feeding on the grassy lawn near the
swimming area also.
