Hi, Tweets

Nothing exotic here, but we have been favored off and on all week with a barred owl. It sits for hours on either the tray feeder or on an even closer to the deck feeder. He watches everything and sort of ignores my elkhound and me if we come out. Bill saw him catch something last week and take it into a cedar for his lunch. Haven't seen him since the rain started.

My son also heard a great horned owl calling two nights ago. That's very unusual for here. It seems that the GHOW stays south of 228 (a main street) and the barred are here to the north.

And, there is at least one osprey on what I call the power station nest, just up the hill to the east from Thrasher's Corners.

Cheers, Diann
