We ski tour in that area and have seen several Black-backed Woodpeckers
after the Table Mountain fire of October 2012. IME it doesn't take them
long to populate after a big burn.

Another access to the general is via the Tronsen TH to Tronsen Meadows and
Windy Knob. It's a very nice hike this time of year -- the Western Larches
will start turning soon -- and also nice XC skiing and backcountry ski
touring in winter.
