Hello Nubie,

If I am not mistaken, that is either a tengmalm (bartellius yougottobekiddingmeous subspecies)-(the owl-not Peter Gusaf)
recently seen near the lower Salish reservation or the juvenile California condor (minor), seen by the records committe members (only) near the Upper Wedgewood reservation.

Very special, welcome April!
Dan

Hello all!!!
I am so happy I have found this place. I'm looking forward to reading about all the exciting finds and maybe trying to find a few myself.

I thought some of you might like to see a few pictures of the most exciting visitor we've had in our yard, this little owl which I believe is a Saw-Whet. Are Saw-Whet Owls common in Seattle? This is the first one I've ever seen. Its been sleeping in our yard for a few days now.

Hopefully this works: http://imgur.com/a/vi8u2

He or she is absolutely adorable, but I am hoping it won't hurt our songbirds? We tried to feed it mice from the pet store, but it didn't seem interested. Should I keep trying? I don't really know what to do with the mice and they give me the creeps.
