Re-opening of Saltwater Park near Hoodsport Washington just in time for
Crabbing

As crab season approaches on July 1, the Skokomish Tribe announces the
re-opening of the former Saltwater Park located on Hood Canal in Potlatch.
The park will now be known as Skokomish Park at Potlatch.
The key feature of this park is a fantastic boat launch into the beautiful
Hood Canal.

The Skokomish Tribe has invested in improving the parking areas by grading
and graveling the parking lot. The Tribe also performs all regular
maintenance of the parking lot, picnic areas and park landscape.

Located on US Highway 101, Skokomish Park at Potlatch is situated three
miles south of Hoodsport and fourteen minutes north of Shelton.
It is often referred to as the "powerhouse" boat launch due to its location
across from Tacoma Power's Cushman (Coleman) Powerhouse No.

Subject: [Tweeters] Mason County Saltwater Park--where?

Dear Tweeters,

I am trying to figure out where I was a few years ago, not far from Potlatch
State Park in Mason County. In my notes, I wrote the name of the location as
"Saltwater Park," and I was definitely in Mason County--not the Saltwater
State Park that's in Des Moines, WA, but a park in Mason County, WA, called
Saltwater Park.

I'd appreciate any information as to where this place is, or was, so I can
enter it on eBird.

Thanks.

Yours truly,

Gary Bletsch
