Good morning Tweeters --

My first look out of the scope this morning the two little birds nestled down after a busy day yesterday of wing tests and the "hummerazzi" (more on that later).

But just now - a few minutes ago" I just happened to look thru the scope and just then, the first (oldest?) lifted off and just flew into the world - that quickly. Perfect timing. I must admit, I teared up, wondering where life will take this little bird. It's sibling climbed back into the nest and settled in with it's new found extra room - waiting for one last feeding from mom, I imagine. I'm so glad I got to witness this bit of "finality". I won't be home later today, and wanted to see the "first flight".

What a gift this has been!

I'll keep checking on the 2nd until I leave today to know that two new hummingbirds joined the winged world - right in my backyard.
